Over $5 for the 2nd day in a row, sure hope the current momentum sticks for awhile. The recent Edgecast acquisition/merger is getting some praise in the analyst community. Essentially acquired at 1.0 times Edgecast annual revenue. Yahoo will hold 31% of the retitled company - Edgio. Think they could have come up with a better name though imo. The common share transaction tells me that Yahoo has faith in the direction/merits of the new company.

https://www.streetinsider.com/Corporate+News/Limelight+Networks+(LLNW)+Acquires+Yahoos+Edgecast+for+$300M+in+Stock/19734296.html

This is getting exciting, the new management team is already setting a promising pace.

Now at $4.87 or so. I'm surprised there's not more discussion going on here. Bob Lyons has certainly improved the outlook here. The guy has a clue.

My belief is the EdgeCast acquisition has greatly increased LLNW footprint into scalable edge computing which will result in immediate eps improvement even with the additional shares that will be issued.

https://www.streetinsider.com/Corporate+News/Limelight+Networks+(LLNW)+Acquires+Yahoos+Edgecast+for+$300M+in+Stock/19734296.html

per article: "The combination will create a globally scaled, edge enabled software solutions provider with pro forma 2021 revenue of more than $500 million across cloud security and web applications, content delivery and edge video platform."

Seems more like a merger to me: "Yahoo will receive approximately 72.2 million shares of Limelight common stock, subject to customary closing adjustments, and will own approximately 31.9% of the combined company at closing."

This stock has come a considerable way since breaking that $3.20 support back in December. Just want it to consolidate a bit here and somehow hold $4.00, don't want it to retest $3.80. Regardless, the management change seems to have worked, feel like there will continue to be progress in the near term. With the great tech stock earning reports tonight, maybe a bit can spill into the edge computing/infrastructure sector.

I'm replying to a prior post as I don't want anyone to think I just got on the bandwagon. This is at $4.19 as I write this, and in my prior post I stated it was at $2.80. So, a nice return since August, 2021. But this has legs and should be much higher. I continue to be long and strong with LLNW. Bob Lyons, the CEO is the real deal. The earlier that any investor realizes this and takes a strong financial stand, the more they will benefit in the long run.

Limelight Announces General Availability of GraphQL Caching and Serverless Hosting for Builders of Headless Websites

Limelight Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: LLNW), a leading provider of content delivery services and AppOps at the edge, today announced general availability of GraphQL functionality for its Layer0 by Limelight web application CDN.

https://mma.prnewswire.com/media/1478949/Limelight_Networks_Logo.jpg

GraphQL is an important enabler of microservices-based (aka headless) websites, allowing web builders to make their API layer much faster and easier to manage. Layer0 has solved the key challenge of caching GraphQL APIs at the network edge, which is not supported by traditional web CDNs. In addition, the solution supports hosting the GraphQL server in a serverless environment. These new capabilities enhance Limelight's presence in the $4.4 billion web application CDN market, especially as web builders, not the operations team, are driving these purchase decisions.

The GraphQL query language improves on traditional REST APIs and has had tremendous growth and adoption among developers. Originally incubated at Facebook and later open sourced, GraphQL reduces the over-fetching of data, which can improve performance. It also enables teams to iterate their APIs faster without incurring versioning headaches by defining a flexible but strongly typed API between client and server. This has made GraphQL popular with developers, especially enterprise organizations using headless or API-first web architectures. In the annual state of JS survey1, GraphQL had the highest scores for awareness (98%), satisfaction (94%), and interest (87%) among developers than any other data layer solution.

Unfortunately, traditional CDNs and caching software have been built around REST APIs and are incompatible with GraphQL because they don't cache the more complex HTTP POST format. As a result, websites using traditional web CDNs experience poor performance because GraphQL queries cannot be parsed and cached by these CDNs.

Layer0 solves this problem by adding GraphQL parsing and support for the POST method to EdgeJS, a high-performance, JavaScript-based declarative language for edge logic. With EdgeJS, web builders can create powerful custom caching logic based on both the properties of their GraphQL queries and HTTP headers such as cookies and authentication. For example, a developer can cache information such as a product ID in an ecommerce API from a GraphQL response, as well as attributes such as language, currency, and personalization preferences that are embedded in the request headers. In addition, the same application can manage and submit runtime calls to the GraphQL server hosted in a serverless environment on Layer0, eliminating worries about infrastructure and scale.

"We're proud to leapfrog the industry by delivering native GraphQL support," said Ajay Kapur, Chief Technology Officer at Limelight. "Web builders ship up to twice as often because Layer0 makes edge compute and caching one small part of a more holistic 'application centric' workflow. Business teams love their Layer0-powered site because they load in literally the blink of an eye via predictive prefetching, the industry's fastest edge compute, and suite of RUM and observability tools."

Layer0 includes everything development and DevOps teams need to implement a headless or Jamstack architecture including hosting, serverless, observability, RUM and CI/CD integration. Teams can be flexible in how they leverage Layer0. They can use it to cache their GraphQL APIs, run their GraphQL server in a serverless environment, or host their entire headless application. Layer0 also has powerful routing options that enable teams to gradually migrate legacy applications to headless or API-first architectures.

The combination of GraphQL support and compatibility with traditional systems makes Layer0 ideal for large enterprises migrating to GraphQL with a mix of legacy and modern components.

Limelight Networks Stock Gains After Bullish Rating From Craig-Hallum
Mentioned: LLNW
Craig-Hallum analyst Jeff Van Rhee upgraded Limelight Networks Inc (NASDAQ: LLNW) to Buy from Hold with a price target of $4.00, up from $3.50, implying a 43% upside.
Van Rhee sees the current valuation and sentiment as reflecting near-peak or peak pessimism and finds recent numbers more credible than is implied in shares, Van Rhee notes.
Additionally, he believes that the base business has been stabilized and is increasingly convinced in the logic of the move to pivot into the AppOpps space.
Limelight Networks provides a content delivery network and value-added services that help content owners improve streaming quality, download speeds, and advertising capabilities.
In July, Limelight Networks reported Q2 revenue of $48.3 million, down 17% year-on-year, below the consensus of $52.1 million. EPS loss of $(0.06) missed consensus loss of $(0.03).
Limelight Networks sees Q3 revenue of $220 million - $230 million versus the consensus of $221.1 million. It sees Q3 EPS loss of $(0.15) - $(0.05) versus consensus loss of $(0.10)
Price Action: LLNW shares traded higher by 11.9% at $2.83 on the last check Friday.

Thanks for your perspective, I have been deliberately avoiding news/status of this stock for awhile; I own a bit. I also believe the much needed new CEO could be a catalyst for the price; did not realize they had a recent acquisition. I just feel that FSLY and LLNW are in a fabulous market segment and will not only recover but resume accelerated growth trends.

Not that anyone is watching, but I wrote the prior posting when the stock price was closed at $2.51. Since then, it hit a high intraday of $2.99 (but closed today at $2.80). Still, my comment on the night of 7/26 looks good in retrospect. Other than Goldman Sachs (henchman Brett Feldman) trying to keep the price down, this seems to have found positive momentum with new CEO Bob Lyons and their purchase of Layer0.

Katapy is tapping into the power of Limelight’s edge computing and CDN services to advance its customers' online video experiences, reduce cost, and scale to meet increasing demand for its video services.

Raymond James Notes ' This is an especially meaningful development for Limelight (LLNW) who stands to gain the most as a percent of revenue given that Amazon Prime Video made up 30% of its 2019 revenues.'

This was on the Benzinga Pro news feed today. I don't understand why FSLY is skyrocketing when this company is profitable which FSLY is not and is set to grow 100% year over year (2020 earnings vs 2021 earnings) based on 7-8 analysts published on Yahoo finance as of this writing. Yet LLNW has only 1/10th the market cap of FSLY. Look at the fundamentals between both companies and you will see a lot of similarities and they are direct competitors in this space. Once Main Street and the Robinhood traders find out about this stock it will probably skyrocket like FSLY. If you look at their list of customers like Amazon it's maybe a much better play in the same industry as FSTY. The kicker or tailwind is when Amazon adds 24/7 live streaming cable TV channels to Amazon Prime Video. This will cause estimates and positive earnings (which FSTY doesn't have) to rise dramatically IMHO. Also hoping it starts to show up on institutional radars as well now that it trades over $6 a share. Have a great day and good luck with your trading!
