PR Newswire (US)
Offers Compatibility with a Broad Set of Basebands SAN JOSE,
Calif., July 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Micro Linear Corporation
(NASDAQ:MLIN), a leading supplier of highly integrated digital
wireless transceivers, announced today that samples are available
of the Company's new ML1905 advanced Personal Handyphone System
(PHS) integrated circuit. The availability of these samples for
potential customers is a follow-on to customer evaluation platforms
that were demonstrated to PHS handset manufacturers in May 2006.
The ML1905, Micro Linear's second-generation PHS transceiver, is a
highly integrated device that combines transmit, receive and
synthesizer functionality, and power amplifier, into a single
integrated circuit. The ML1905 PHS transceiver is designed to
interface with a wide variety of baseband integrated circuits. "We
are pleased to offer the ML1905 to PHS handset manufacturers. As
compared to our prior generation of PHS products, the ML1900 and
ML1901, the ML1905 offers compatibility with a broader set of
basebands, reduces power consumption and improves overall RF
performance," stated Tim Richardson, President and Chief Executive
Office of Micro Linear. "We continue to believe the expanding PHS
market offers an important opportunity for us as handset
manufacturers build smaller, more affordable phones with increased
functionality and higher performance," he added. Steve Moore, VP of
Sales and Applications at Micro Linear, said, "We currently have
multiple potential customers starting projects based on the ML1905
and we are encouraged by their progress to date with these
efforts." For more information, and to obtain samples of the
ML1905, qualified manufacturers should contact . About Micro
