conducted this year examining how corporations treat their online
customers, Overnite Transportation, A UPS Company received the
highest marks of the more than 2,000 corporate Web sites
categorized over a spectrum of industries, according to the
independent Customer Respect Group. The Massachusetts-based
Customer Respect Group measures and analyzes corporate performance
from an online customer's perspective and assigns a Customer
Respect Index (CRI) rating to each company. Measured indicators
include Simplicity, Responsiveness, Privacy, Attitude, Transparency
and Principles. In its own field, Overnite, one of the nation's
largest less-than- truckload companies, outpaced all competitors in
the Transportation, Distribution and Logistics field with a CRI of
8.7. The industry as a whole had a CRI of 7.0. "Our goal at
