'Spring a Pet' Will Make Animals' Lives Better PETCO Foundation's
Fundraiser Will Aid More Than 1,900 Animal Welfare Organizations
SAN DIEGO, Feb. 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Continuing their
efforts to create better lives for companion animals everywhere,
the PETCO Foundation will hold their annual "Spring a Pet"
fundraiser March 7 through April 11, to raise money to assist
animal welfare groups in PETCO Animal Supplies, Inc. store

customers, vendors and associates will have the opportunity to
donate $1, $5, $10 or $20, and each donor will receive a cardstock
animal card that will be displayed with their personal message in
their neighborhood PETCO store. Donors of $20 or more also will
receive a Red Ruff or Blue Mews custom bookmark. Customers will
also have the opportunity to "round up" their purchases to the next
dollar, with all proceeds going to the Spring a Pet fundraiser.
Last year's event raised more than $1.2 million for grass-roots
animal welfare organizations, and the PETCO Foundation hopes to
exceed that number during this year's fundraiser. "Our customers,
vendors and associates love animals, and continue to show that
through their generous support of our fundraisers," PETCO
Foundation Director Paul Jolly said. "These funds will help
continue the much-needed rescue and adoption services of animal
welfare groups across the country." Each store selects a charitable
partner or partners to receive funding raised by their individual
