CentraState Medical Center Deploys Proxim Tsunami Products for Broadband Wireless Network New Jersey Medical Center's New Network Gives Users Access to Higher Bandwidth Applications, Delivers Substantially Improved ROI SUNNYVALE, Calif., Aug. 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Proxim Corporation (NASDAQ:PROX), a global leader in wireless networking equipment for Wi-Fi and broadband wireless networks, today announced that CentraState Medical Center, a 263-bed, acute-care community medical center in the growing city of Freehold, New Jersey, has deployed Proxim's Tsunami products as the foundation of its new broadband wireless network. The network links the hospital's main site to 120 employees located at five remote sites including a health education and fitness center, three senior living communities and a health clinic, and has resulted in easier deployment and greatly improved Return on Investment (ROI) for CentraState. Using Proxim's Tsunami 45 Mbps point-to-point Ethernet bridges, CentraState is providing its remotely located employees with high-speed access to the Internet, email and the main hospital's clinical systems, educational webinar demonstrations, telecare for seniors and billing applications. In addition, the medical center is deploying Proxim Tsunami 60 Mbps bridges to transmit images, such as MRI and X-ray results, from its remote sites to the main facility.
