Proxim Announces New Enhancements to Its Partner Program Wireless
Wizard Partner Program Gives VARs Added Benefits, Ensures Top Notch
Support for Proxim Partners SUNNYVALE, Calif., Sept. 8
/PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Proxim Corporation (NASDAQ:PROX), a
global leader in wireless networking equipment for Wi-Fi and
broadband wireless networks, today announced enhancements to its
multi-tiered channel partner program that will deliver added
benefits and incentives to its base of Value-added Resellers (VARs)
and distributors, and to the company's end user customers. The
Wireless Wizard Partner Program is designed to recognize and reward
Proxim channel partners that have particular focus, commitment and
expertise in wireless networking and to give end user customers the
ability to purchase product from a channel that understands and
supports their wireless networking needs. The Wireless Wizard
Partner Program is an integral component of Proxim's overall sales
strategy for both its ORiNOCO Wi-Fi and Tsunami and Lynx wireless
broadband product lines, 90% of which are sold through the channel.
The program's primary purpose is to build the most proficient
wireless networking sales team in the industry to service and
support Proxim customers. "We want to provide as much incentive as
possible for our channel partners to maintain excellence in sales,
service and support," said Chris Jones, senior vice president of
worldwide sales for Proxim. "Our global partner program is designed
to identify those partners who continually strive for this level of
achievement and to reward them accordingly." The Wireless Wizard
Partner Program is comprised of three tiers -- Wireless, Gold and a
new, Platinum level -- each with a set of distinct revenue,
educational and support requirements. As partners increase their
commitments in these crucial areas, they can realize greater
benefits including priority tech support, sales bonus and
cooperative marketing programs, access to advanced training
courses, Proxim's partner extranet, special promotions and more. In
particular, the new Platinum Partner level identifies partners who
commit to ongoing education and certification, particularly in
burgeoning application areas such as public safety, voice over
Wi-Fi, security and surveillance, and who are consistent, top
performers; it then rewards them with added benefits such as
dedicated sales, marketing and systems engineering resources. "We
are excited to be part of Proxim's enhanced Wireless Wizard Partner
Program," said Brian Casto, president of ICI Networks, an Akron,
Ohio-based systems integrator specializing in secure wireless and
mobile solutions that is eligible for the new Platinum level. "The
new program demonstrates Proxim's ongoing commitment to partners
like ICI that continually strive to deliver best of breed products,
solutions, support and service. We look forward to participating in
the program and continuing our prosperous relationship with
Proxim." The new Wireless Wizard Partner Program takes effect
beginning September 8th, 2004. About Proxim Proxim Corporation is a
