Security Solutions BEDFORD, Mass., April 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/
-- RSA Security Inc. (NASDAQ:RSAS) today announced that more than
6,000 customers, including approximately 800 new customers,
selected its award-winning identity and access management and
anti-fraud solutions in the first quarter of 2006. As of March 31,
2006, more than 20,000 organizations worldwide have leveraged the
company's growing roster of enterprise, consumer and developer
solutions. Customer Testimonials Across the globe, customers voiced
resounding confidence in RSA Security technology: Specifically, in
North America, Alaska USA Federal Credit Union, one of the nation's
top 25 credit unions, selected RSA Cyota(R) FraudAction(TM)
anti-phishing and anti-pharming service to help protect its members
from online fraud. "RSA Security is earning a reputation for
providing timely and targeted anti-fraud services to the financial
industry," remarked John Shipe, Alaska USA's chief information
officer. "RSA Cyota FraudAction service represents an important
layer in Alaska USA's comprehensive approach to preventing,
identifying, and disrupting the activities that put members and the
credit union at financial risk." In the Asia-Pacific region, New
Zealand Police, the national agency responsible for public safety
in New Zealand, chose RSA SecurID(R) two-factor authentication to
provide secure remote access to computer terminals installed in
patrol cars. "Ensuring the security of our data communications is a
top priority and the 'car as police station' project is the most
far-reaching of our top ten technology initiatives," said Lyn
Provost, deputy commissioner. "The terminals will provide
authorized frontline police officers with secure remote access for
background checks on people and their vehicles without having to
radio back to base for information. This will speed officers'
access to the most current information, reduce traffic on radio
channels and free communications staff from handling routine
inquiries. Following an initial implementation, New Zealand Police
will progressively implement vehicle terminals throughout the
national fleet." In addition, Credit Union Central of Ontario, a
leading credit union in Canada, reinforced its commitment to RSA
Security's web access management technology. "Credit Union Central
of Ontario and RSA Security continue a strong five-year
partnership, in which RSA ClearTrust(R) web access management
technology remains a key security building block used in the
provisioning of secure access to Central's web portal, which is
used by 170 member credit unions, and serves more than 1.2 million
Ontarians," said Paul Martinello, director, System Development,
Credit Union Central of Ontario. "We have recently made an
additional investment in RSA ClearTrust technology to keep up with
the expanded use of our portal. RSA ClearTrust technology helps our
users increase their efficiency as they need to login only once to
access all applications and data, and perform financial
transactions." Additional customer successes in the quarter
