Team 1's managed service enables channel partners to expand their business with minimal investment PITTSBURGH, Aug. 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Team 1 Systems, a specialized integration distributor that provides High Availability UNIX(R), Linux(R) and Windows(R) servers to the VAR channel, today announced they are expanding their business model to include managed services. The first managed service offering is SCO HipCheck Service which is a mobile systems administration tool that monitors and manages UNIX and Windows Servers and desktops from Windows Mobile, Blackberry(R) and JAVA-enabled smart phones. Team 1 is a full service provider to channel partners, offering support and maintenance for the solutions they supply to their end users. This new offering allows Team 1 to perform system administration functions for customers which may have geographically dispersed systems. Using the HipCheck service, the VAR can continually monitor the health of Windows and UNIX systems and set alert thresholds for a wide range of parameters. The alerts are user defined, and can be set to notify the system administrator of a condition that could lead to an outage the instant a condition reaches a threshold. An SMS or email message alert is sent to the appropriate system administrator's mobile phone. The administrator uses the mobile phone to immediately respond to the alert, and resolve the related issue immediately, thus preventing downtime from occurring.
