Sharp rise driven by significant business growth within group companies

SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT NORTH AMERICA rose sharply up the ranks of the largest environmental services companies operating in North America in the comprehensive annual industry listing compiled by Engineering News Record (ENR). SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT NORTH AMERICA ranked third-largest among companies specializing only in environmental services, third-largest nationwide for water treatment and supply services, up from #16 last year, and the second-largest in terms of serving municipal clients in the country.

SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT NORTH AMERICA reported significant organic growth and new business wins this year. These are indicative of the more pronounced industry growth and highlight the importance of environmental services for municipalities and private industries. The below represents some of the latest wins for SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT NORTH AMERICA:

  • SENA Waste Services won two operation and maintenance contracts with a total value of $120 million, with the City of Edmonton, Alberta. Operating in tandem, the Edmonton Composting Facility and the Materials Recovery Facility at the Edmonton Waste Management Center enable the city to divert 60% of household waste from landfill through recycling and composting.
  • United Water, in February, announced the signing of a new five-year agreement worth approximately $50 million with the West Basin Municipal Water District to operate and maintain the District’s Edward C. Together the facilities comprise one of the most unique water recycling operations of its kind, having recycled more than 140 billion gallons in drought-stricken California since 1995.
  • Infilco Degremont, in September 2013, won the contract to supply seventeen of its Climber® Screens to the US Army Corps of Engineers for channel debris removal to provide critical frontline protection and safeguard the integrity of its Permanent Canal Closures and Pumps facilities near Lake Pontchartrain in New Orleans and handle an aggregate flow of 15.7 billion gallons per day.

“SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT NORTH AMERICA’s rise in national ranking underlines the increasing importance of our ability to help clients manage critical natural resources in innovate and cost effective ways and an increasing demand for our group’s competencies in enabling the protection, generation and optimization of resources.
