Janus Capital Group, Inc., (NYSE:JNS) today announced the launch of Janus SG Global Quality Income ETF (NASDAQ:SGQI), a global equity income exchange traded fund (ETF), which aims to provide consistent income – especially important in today's low interest rate, low yield environment.

The ETF seeks investment results that correspond generally to the performance, before fees and expenses, of the SGI Global Quality Income Index, which is designed to track the performance of quality companies with attractive and sustainable dividends.

The Janus SG Global Quality Income ETF seeks to invest in quality, non-financial companies in developed countries with a free-float-adjusted market capitalization that is at least $3 billion and a dividend yield of four percent or more.

“We are committed to helping clients build portfolios which have the potential to outperform or reduce risk relative to market cap weighted alternatives, and when it comes to the search for yield, finding quality income should be a key component,” said Nick Cherney, Senior Vice President and Head of Exchange Traded Products for Janus Capital Group. “The SGI Global Quality Income Index has been the underlying index for an ETF in Europe for more than three years, and we’re pleased to bring this strategy to the U.S. market.”

Societe Generale’s proprietary SGI Global Quality Income Index applies a rules-based approach to assessing companies on a range of factors, including return on assets, debt ratios, gross margin, profitability, balance sheet strength and credit metrics.  It seeks to determine those with the financial fundamentals and sustainable business models necessary to provide income through a reliable stream of dividends.

OBJECTIVE: Janus SG Global Quality Income ETF (SGQI) seeks investment results that correspond generally to the performance, before fees and expenses, of an index which is designed to track the stocks of quality companies globally with attractive and sustainable dividends.

Investing involves risk, including the possible loss of principal and fluctuation of value. Past performance is no guarantee of future results. There is no assurance the stated objective(s) will be met.

There is no assurance that tracking the underlying index will capture quality companies with attractive and sustainable dividend yields. There is no guarantee that dividends will be paid.

Foreign securities are subject to currency fluctuations, political and economic uncertainty, increased volatility and lower liquidity, all of which are magnified in emerging markets.

Smaller capitalization companies may be less stable and more susceptible to adverse developments, and their securities may be more volatile and less liquid than larger capitalization companies.

The ETF is new and has less than one year of operating history.

Shares of ETFs are bought and sold at market price (not NAV) and are not individually redeemed from the Fund. Market returns are based upon the midpoint of the bid/ask spread at 4:00 p.m. Eastern time (when NAV is normally determined for most ETFs), and do not represent the returns you would receive if you traded shares at other times. Ordinary brokerage commissions apply and will reduce returns.

ETF shares are not individually redeemable and owners of the shares may acquire those shares from the Fund and tender those shares for redemption to the Fund in Creation Units only.

SGI Global Quality Income Index includes stocks selected from an investment universe of non-financial companies having a free-float adjusted market capitalization that is at least $3 billion, times an adjustment factor, from developed countries and which meet certain criteria for quality, balance sheet risk, and dividend yield. An investment cannot be made directly in an index.
