Sabre Airline Solutions, the leading provider of software and
services to the airline industry from planning to execution, and
Austrian Airlines, the flag carrier of Austria, today announced the
airline's selection of Sabre Rocade Crew Management System, a
next-generation crew management solution. Austrian Airlines flight
operations will use the Crew Management System to plan and track
crew scheduling throughout its entire operations, including 50
aircraft and more than 3,000 crew members. Sabre Airline Solutions
will also provide professional services and ongoing support for
Austrian Airlines during the implementation and for a period of at
least five years. "The Rocade suite offers an optimal mix of rich
functionality, yet is easily accessible and highly advanced in
terms of automation and optimization," said Markus Christl, project
manager, Austrian Airlines. "At the same time, the Rocade suite is
very robust and provides a truly user-friendly graphical interface
superior to any other alternative we evaluated. With the Crew Web
Portal, we will be able to communicate more efficiently and
allocate our resources more accurately according to individual crew
preferences. "The Rocade suite's model for implementation and
provision of assistance brings safety and predictability to the
project. Its large and active customer community confirms that
implementation projects constantly meet the expectations,"
concluded Christl. The Crew Management System uses a highly
automated, single database workflow with integrated modules for
cost-effective, fair and equitable crew planning methods.
Integrated functionality allows for complete crew management
including pairing optimization, vacation management, automatic
roster construction and Web-based crew check-in. This allows users
to easily view and manage crew management information in order to
better manage the ever-changing crew operations environment.
Additionally, all modules are integrated and coordinated with L2K,
the Rocade suite's unique technology for legality control that
enables optimal flexibility for user-definable rules management.
"Flag carrier airlines such as Austrian Airlines are turning toward
building solutions on integrated standard systems to achieve a
balance between advanced functionality and ease of use," said Urban
Deljerud, managing director of Sabre Rocade AB, Sabre Airline
Solutions. "With the built-in flexibility and the implementation
methodology developed by the Rocade suite, we can develop a crew
management solution to fit any airline's unique characteristics and
needs." About Sabre Airline Solutions Sabre Airline Solutions, a
