Southwest Airlines Co. (LUV) said Thursday that it had narrowed the choice of supplier for its new reservations system to Amadeus IT Holdings SA (AMADY, AMS.MC) and Sabre Holdings (TSG).

The largest domestic U.S. airline by passenger numbers has been evaluating a replacement for an aging booking system that has prevented it from pursuing alliances with other carriers or launching international flights.

Southwest revealed the remaining vendors during its annual investor day, but didn't give a timeline for a final decision.

Laura Wright, chief financial officer, also reiterated the company's financial goals, including achieving a 15% pre-tax return on invested capital in 2012.
