TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. (TCS) (NASDAQ: TSYS), a world leader in highly reliable and secure mobile communication technology, today announced that it has received orders worth $9.9 million to supply high reliability electronic parts, engineering services and long-term parts storage over a three-year period. The services and components are for satellites being built by commercial entities and the Japanese government for a range of applications.

The new business indicates continued momentum for the Trident Space & Defense business, which was acquired by TCS in January of this year, and is now part of TCS' Government business unit. "Our customers in Japan have come to expect the high level of reliability in the equipment, engineering support, and customer service we've been providing them for the past three decades," said Mike Bristol, senior vice president and general manager of government solutions for TCS. "Our ability to solve their toughest challenges with practical solutions continues to exceed our customers' expectations. That's how we've earned an unparalleled reputation for excellence in the space industry."
