US Airways Statement on Chicago O'Hare Flight Reductions ARLINGTON,
Va., Aug. 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- US Airways said today it
supports the joint order issued by the U.S. Department of
Transportation (DOT) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)
which will reduce operations related delays at Chicago O'Hare
International Airport. "Secretary Mineta and Administrator Blakey
have shown tremendous leadership in dealing quickly with the
congestion issues at O'Hare, which have an impact on the entire
aviation system," said Alan W. Crellin, executive vice president of
operations. "While we have a relatively small flight schedule at
O'Hare, it is still important for US Airways to have access and
remain competitive, and during this proceeding, DOT and FAA
officials have worked hard to strike a careful balance." US Airways
operates 19 daily flights from O'Hare, with six-times daily service
to both Charlotte, N.C., and Pittsburgh, and seven daily flights to
Philadelphia. US Airways is the nation's seventh-largest airline,
serving nearly 200 communities in the U.S., Canada, Europe, the
Caribbean and Latin America. US Airways, US Airways Shuttle and the
US Airways Express partner carriers operate over 3,300 flights per
day. DATASOURCE: US Airways CONTACT: US Airways Corporate Affairs,
