Visteon Diversity Efforts Earn Recognition in Prominent Publication
VAN BUREN TOWNSHIP, Mich., April 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Visteon
Corporation (NYSE:VC) was recently named one of the top-50
companies for diversity by DiversityInc, a prominent diversity
business magazine. The fifth annual Top 50 Companies for Diversity
list was released today on http://www.diversityinc.com/ and will be
featured in the June edition of the publication. (Logo:

also was named to two of the publication's specialty lists --
ranking among the top-10 companies for Asian Americans and for gay,
lesbian, bisexual and transgender employees. "Visteon is honored to
be recognized by DiversityInc as a company committed to diversity
in all aspects of our business," said Mike Johnston, Visteon
president and chief executive officer. "When Visteon became an
independent automotive supplier in 2000, the company established
diversity as one of its core values, as well a leadership standard
by which the management team is held accountable," explained
Johnston, who is also co-chairman of the Visteon Executive
Diversity Council. "The attributes that make us unique individuals
-- culture, ethnicity, race, gender, age, life experiences and
beliefs -- allow us to provide each other with insights that might
not otherwise be realized," he added. Companies selected to the
DiversityInc Top-50 list excel in several key areas, particularly
their commitment to create a more inclusive workforce, according to
DiversityInc. DiversityInc's Top-50 list reflects what is
considered to be one of the most in-depth analyses of corporate
diversity management, leadership and marketing. The analysis is
based on responses to more than 200 detailed questions in four key
areas, including CEO commitment, human capital, employee engagement
and supplier diversity. More than 200 companies participated in the
2005 ratings. Visteon is the only automotive supplier to make the
list. Visteon's recognition for diversity is, in part, due to its
employee engagement. Employees of the company have initiated and
chartered seven employee resource groups including the African
Ancestry Network; Arab Resource Network; Asian Indian Association;
Asia Pacific Employee Network; Hispanic Network; Gay, Lesbian or
Bisexual employees; and Woman in Visteon. These groups support
networking, continuing education, career development, social
activities and community outreach. "Only by sharing our diverse
cultures and backgrounds can Visteon reach its full potential,"
said Gary Mayo, chairman of the Visteon African Ancestry Network
and director of corporate social responsibility for the company.
"Every individual, as well as each cultural group, has a unique
contribution to offer." Visteon Corporation is a leading
full-service supplier that delivers consumer-driven technology
solutions to automotive manufacturers worldwide and through
multiple channels within the global automotive aftermarket. Visteon
has about 70,000 employees and a global delivery system of more
than 200 technical, manufacturing, sales and service facilities
located in 25 countries.
