The 30-year fixed mortgage rate on Zillow® Mortgages is currently 3.66 percent, down six basis points from this time last week. The 30-year fixed mortgage rate dropped Friday, then hovered around 3.70 percent before settling at the current rate on Tuesday.

“Mortgage rates fell sharply Friday, touching their lowest levels of the year after the jobs report showed a weaker than expected labor market in May,” said Erin Lantz, vice president of mortgages at Zillow. “Geopolitical news should again dominate headlines this week, with financial markets likely focusing on elections in the United Kingdom and former FBI director James Comey’s congressional testimony on Thursday. Recent polls suggest a closer than anticipated UK election, and rates could fall if elections weaken the governing party’s parliamentary mandate.”

Zillow’s real-time mortgage rates are based on thousands of custom mortgage quotes submitted daily to anonymous borrowers on the Zillow Mortgages site and reflect the most recent changes in the market. These are not marketing rates, or a weekly survey.

The rate for a 15-year fixed home loan is currently 2.94 percent, while the rate for a 5-1 adjustable-rate mortgage (ARM) is 2.87 percent.
