Nation's largest drugstore chain is offering free 'thank you' gifts
to ExtraCare cardholders all month long WOONSOCKET, R.I., Aug. 3
/PRNewswire/ -- CVS/pharmacy, America's largest retail pharmacy
with 6,900 convenient locations nationwide, today announced the
launch of its second annual "See What's Free" campaign. This
special promotion for ExtraCare cardholders will make more than 50
million customers eligible for a free 'thank you' gift simply by
shopping at a CVS/pharmacy store during the month of August. To
take advantage of this program and nearly all of the money-saving
offers that CVS/pharmacy customers receive through ExtraCare,
shoppers do not have to do anything more than present their
ExtraCare cards when visiting CVS/pharmacy throughout the month.
CVS/pharmacy's ExtraCare rewards program is the nation's largest
retail rewards program and among the most popular and easy to use.
Last year, ExtraCare cardholders received a combined total of more
than $1.8 billion in earned Extra Bucks rewards. What: One of the
largest rewards program promotions ever offered by a retailer is
back for its second year. When an ExtraCare cardholder makes a
purchase at CVS/pharmacy, he or she will receive a coupon for a
free product. This instant reward coupon will appear on the receipt
during each shopper's first visit in August. Each cardholder is
eligible for one free gift coupon. Why: Everyone enjoys receiving a
free gift and for making CVS/pharmacy their drugstore of choice the
company would like to express a "Thank You!" to all ExtraCare
members. The ExtraCare rewards program has been recognized
nationally for its exceptional benefits to consumers and
CVS/pharmacy has consistently expanded the program to make it
easier than ever for customers to save money every time they shop.
Where: Every CVS/pharmacy location. To find the CVS/pharmacy
location closest to you, please visit
http://www.cvs.com/storefinder. When: Starting August 1 through
August 31. A free gift coupon will print on the receipt during the
cardholder's first visit during the month of August. Customers then
have seven days to redeem their coupons (from their individual
print date). Free gift coupon will print for every card account in
use as of July 27th 2009 How ExtraCare works: Quarterly Extra Bucks
ExtraCare cardholders receive 2% back on nearly every dollar spent
in the store, every time they shop, regardless of whether or not
they pay attention to any sales or special offers. Additionally,
for every two prescriptions filled at CVS/pharmacy, ExtraCare
cardholders automatically receive $1 Extra Buck. At the end of each
quarter, these Extra Bucks are printed on the bottom of
cardholder's receipts during their first visit. Extra Bucks are
like free CVS/pharmacy money. They can be used on nearly anything
in the store. Cardholders can also register their ExtraCare
accounts on CVS.com, so they can print out Extra Bucks at home
before shopping as well. Customers that link their ExtraCare
account to a CVS.com account will also receive personalized coupons
and special discounts by email, if they opt in for those features.
How ExtraCare works: Instant Extra Bucks In addition to the
automatic quarterly rewards all cardholders receive, each time a
shopper visits CVS/pharmacy, certain items are marked with instant
Extra Bucks offers. These special discounts are listed in the
weekly sales circular and are marked on store shelves. CVS/pharmacy
also provides shoppers with a monthly in-store circular called an
"Extra Value Book," which lists those Extra Bucks offers that are
available for the entire month. To take advantage of these instant
offers, shoppers can earn additional Extra Bucks simply by
purchasing the qualifying items. These Extra Bucks coupons print
immediately on the bottom of the receipt after the transaction is
completed.. About CVS/pharmacy CVS/pharmacy, the retail division of
