NEW YORK, Sept. 4, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Avon Products, Inc. (NYSE: AVP) today announced the appointment of Scott Crum as Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Chief People Officer, effective September 17.  Mr. Crum will report to Sheri McCoy, Avon's Chief Executive Officer, and join the company's Executive Committee.

"As we work to return Avon to growth, it is essential that we effectively manage and develop talent while also enhancing a culture of accountability," said Ms. McCoy. "Scott shares my commitment to creating an engaged and effective work environment with aligned goals and a one team mindset. His knowledge of the global workforce and experience building strong teams will be critical to our turnaround efforts."

Mr. Crum has significant experience leading human resources teams and transforming workplace cultures at large, global companies. Most recently, Mr. Crum served as Senior Vice President and Chief People Officer of Motorola Mobility, one of two publicly traded companies created when Motorola split in 2010. In this role, he led human resources initiatives for establishing Motorola Mobility as a separate, independent and publicly traded company.  He established a new human resources team and led global human resources, security and real estate functions through Motorola Mobility's recent acquisition by Google.

Prior to joining Motorola in 2010, Mr. Crum led human resources for ITT Corporation for eight years. ITT was a global high tech multi-industry engineering and manufacturing company with 40,000 employees in 60 countries that served three vital markets.  With the majority of ITT's employees stationed outside of the United States, Mr. Crum created a unified employee platform that effectively served a highly diverse business, established common leadership values, and built a human resources function with a pronounced customer service orientation.

Prior to working for ITT, Mr. Crum held a series of progressively accountable human resources positions including Senior Vice President of Administration and Human Resources for General Instrument Corp. and Corporate Vice President, Human Resources of Latin America for Motorola, Inc.
