New Era Helium advances strategic development plans across Helium and AI infrastructure operations
New Era Helium CEO Will Gray joined Steve Darling from Proactive to provide a detailed operational update and outline the company’s forward-looking development strategy. Gray highlighted ongoing progress across multiple business fronts, including the Pecos Slope Plant project, helium offtake planning, and the company's parallel expansion into AI-driven infrastructure through its joint venture, Texas Critical Data Centers, LLC (TCDC). At the Pecos Slope Field, New Era Helium is actively engaged with its midstream gatherer and processor following a recent transition in both the ownership and management of that third-party entity. Discussions remain constructive, with NEH focused on securing an outcome that is both operationally efficient and financially beneficial. However, Gray acknowledged that as a result of these negotiations, along with delays in securing project financing during the company’s recent de-SPAC process, the construction timeline for the Pecos Slope Plant has been extended. To mitigate potential delays and maintain momentum toward monetization, NEH has initiated contingency planning for helium offtake agreements. These efforts are running in parallel with construction timelines and are designed to ensure flexibility in commercial arrangements. The company remains in active dialogue with current counterparties while exploring new agreements to unlock long-term value and ensure a robust path to revenue generation from its helium assets. NEH stands out as one of only two companies trading on a major U.S. exchange with both proved and probable helium reserves, positioning it as a rare and de-risked opportunity in the helium investment landscape. Despite current production from its properties, the company is not receiving payment under its existing marketing agreement, which has surpassed its primary term and now operates on a month-to-month basis. The company is evaluating its options to optimize the commercial structure moving forward. Beyond its he

Greatland Gold's Shaun Day on Telfer Reserve & Havieron expansion plans
Greatland Gold PLC managing director Shaun Day talked with Proactive about the company’s updated ore reserve for the Telfer gold-copper mine and its forward-looking development strategy. Day outlined the release of a 712,000-ounce gold and 23,000-tonne copper ore reserve for Telfer, achieved just five months post-acquisition. This comes on the heels of a 3.2 million ounce resource estimate, collectively taking the total resource base, including Havieron, beyond 10.0 million ounces. “This is really built on the back of Michael Thompson and his team,” Day said, noting the speed and scale of the update. He emphasized that the reserve confirms continuity at Telfer as Havieron ramps up, avoiding any production gap. Day also discussed the two-year dual-train production outlook through FY27 and emphasized the production and cost benefits expected once Havieron, a significantly higher-grade and lower-cost asset, is integrated. An updated feasibility study aims to expand Havieron from 2.8 to 4–4.5 million tonnes per annum, potentially via conveyor infrastructure to enhance economics and ESG performance. Looking ahead, Day pointed to opportunities to extend mine life, increase drilling, and develop the West Dome Underground. “The team is really humming right now,” he said. Caledonia Mining CEO talks record Q1 & solar sale
Caledonia Mining Corporation PLC chief executive Mark Learmonth talked with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about a record first quarter for gold production at the company's Blanket Mine. Learmonth attributed the strong operational performance to significant management changes and the restructuring of the mine's operations, which split underground and surface responsibilities. “We've got a new, younger, more energetic management team underground... and it's worked beautifully,” Learmonth noted, highlighting the benefits of recent personnel shifts and structural reforms. The conversation also covered the recent $22.35 million sale of Caledonia’s solar power plant in Zimbabwe. While the asset has been sold, Learmonth said the company retains a long-term power supply agreement and the option to participate in a second phase, if viable. He clarified the decision allows Caledonia to concentrate more on its core gold mining business. Looking ahead, Learmonth said the company remains focused on maximising gold production while intensifying efforts to reduce long-term costs. “At this gold price, with production strong, we want to get that gold out the ground... with increasing attention now to more management focus on getting those costs down,” he said. Scancell fast-tracks melanoma study with NHS
Scancell Holdings PLC CEO Phillip L’Huillier joined Proactive's Stephen Gunnion with details of the company’s partnership with the NHS Cancer Vaccine Launchpad to accelerate patient recruitment for its SCOPE study evaluating the iSCIB1+ DNA cancer vaccine. L’Huillier described the deal as “a very positive endorsement for Scancell and for the medicines that we are developing,” noting that the therapy is showing promise in delivering long-term immune control in advanced melanoma patients. The NHS collaboration enables hospitals to more quickly access and offer the iSCIB1+ therapy as part of the trial, making Scancell the first UK company to partner with the platform and the first to offer a DNA cancer vaccine through it. He explained that the vaccine is given alongside checkpoint inhibitors, currently standard care, to boost response rates and prolong efficacy, especially where standard therapy alone sees limited, short-lived results. L’Huillier confirmed multiple SCOPE study data readouts are expected in 2025, with a larger development phase targeted for 2026. The company is also progressing its Modi-1 peptide vaccine and aims to further develop its GlyMab antibody platform, including the SC134 programme for small cell lung cancer. L’Huillier said his CEO priorities include sticking to development timelines, building strategic partnerships, and preparing the organisation for future phases.
