Mexico's engineers and technologists are at the heart of a burgeoning Mexican tech industry. To help foster their development, Freescale Semiconductor (NYSE:FSL) (NYSE:FSL.B) will sponsor MexEEdev, Mexico Electronics & Embedded Developers Forum, the premier developer's conference slated for October in Guadalajara. "Mexico is shedding its international image as a source of solely low-cost manufacturing. What we're seeing is very exciting," said Francisco Ruiz, co-founder and general director of the conference. This newfound reputation as a global resource of engineering services compelled regional leaders to create opportunities to foster development of Mexico's tech industry. MexEEdev was created to provide a forum for technologists, industry leaders and academicians to address the demand for electronics design services in Mexico. The forum will provide workshops and seminar sessions that are tailored to meet the needs of the electronic engineer and software developer in key technologies and markets that are forming the nucleus of regional design.
