Aereas Inteligentes S.A. (BM&FBOVESPA: GOLL4 and NYSE: GOL),
(S&P: B, Fitch: B-, Moody's: B3), the largest low-cost and
low-fare airline in Latin America,
hereby announces its preliminary air traffic figures for
May 2013.
PRASK, Yield and Fuel Prices
Net PRASK in May and year-to-date grew by 11% and around 11%,
respectively, over the same periods in 2012, up since
April 2012, reflecting the Company's
strategy of recovering profitability.
Net yield in May increased by 11% year over year to
between 20.0 and 20.5 cents (R$).
The fuel price* dipped by 0.1% in the same period. This
is the biggest difference in PRASK and Fuel Price in GOL's
history.
(*) The per-liter fuel price considers total fuel and
lubricant expenses divided by period consumption.
Domestic Market
In May, GOL continued its strategy of optimizing domestic
supply, which fell by 6.1% year over year, due to the
discontinuation of Webjet's operations. The lower reduction was due
to the fact that the adjustment in supply began in April 2012. The combination of this decline and
the accompanying upturn in PRASK underlines the attractiveness of
our services for passengers willing to pay for higher yields.
International Market
International supply moved up by 39.3% over May 2012, chiefly due to the daily flights to
Santo Domingo, Miami and Orlando that began at the end of last
year. The demand during the same period grew by
40.1% for the same reason.
