Moncef Slaoui, who headed the Trump administration's Operation
Warp Speed vaccine-development effort, has been fired from his
position as chairman of Galvani Bioelectronics following an
investigation into alleged sexual harassment and inappropriate
conduct toward an employee.
Galvani's parent company, GlaxoSmithKline PLC, said Wednesday
that Christopher Corsico, senior vicepresident development at GSK
and a member of Galvani's board, will succeed Mr. Slaoui.
Mr. Slaoui wasn't immediately available for comment.
The British pharmaceutical giant said that it received a letter
containing the allegations, which took place several years ago, and
that it started an investigation with an experienced law firm.
The investigation has sustained the allegations and is still in
progress, the FTSE 100-listed company said.
Shares in GlaxoSmithKline at 1328 GMT were down 14.60 pence, or
1.1%, at 1283.40 pence.
