Monthly Dividend Declaration
Brookfield Global Listed Infrastructure Income Fund Inc.
(NYSE:INF) (the "Fund") today announced that its Board of Directors
declared a monthly dividend of $0.1167 per share, payable on June
28, 2012 to shareholders of record on June 13, 2012. The
ex-dividend date is June 11, 2012. Based on the NYSE closing price
of $17.76 on May 31, 2012, the Fund's annualized dividend yield is
7.89%.
Shares purchased on or after the ex-dividend date will not
receive the dividend discussed above. Please contact your financial
advisor with any questions. Dividends may include net investment
income, capital gains and/or return of capital. The dividend yield
referenced above is calculated as the annualized amount of the most
recent monthly dividend declared divided by the stated stock price.
Any portion of the Fund's distributions that is a return of capital
does not necessarily reflect the Fund's investment performance and
should not be confused with "yield" or "income." The tax status of
distributions will be determined at the end of the taxable
year.
Use of Total Return Swaps
The Fund may use futures and options on securities, indices and
currencies, forward foreign currency exchange contracts and other
derivatives, including total return swaps. As of June 15, 2012, the
investment advisor to the Fund, Brookfield Investment Management
Inc. (the "Advisor"), may utilize total return swaps in the
portfolio, from time to time, to receive the return of a reference
asset, such as an individual security or an index. In a total
return swap, the portfolio typically would pay a set rate or a
financing cost, which is normally based on a floating rate. In
exchange, the portfolio would receive the return of a particular
reference asset. However, if the underlying asset declines in value
over the term of the swap, the Fund will be required to pay the
dollar value of that decline to the counterparty.
The use of total return swaps is a highly specialized activity
which involves investment techniques and risks different from those
associated with ordinary portfolio transactions. Total return swaps
could result in losses if the underlying asset does not perform as
anticipated by the Advisor. As a result, there is a risk that the
investment performance of the portfolio would be less favorable
than it would have been if total return swaps were not used.
