MEMPHIS, Tenn., Feb. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Kroger Co. announced today it has reached a tentative agreement on a new contract with the United Food & Commercial Workers Union Local 1529 in Memphis, Tennessee. The tentative agreement covers over 7,500 Kroger associates who work in 72 stores in Memphis and parts of Arkansas, Kentucky, Mississippi and Tennessee. The UFCW will present the tentative agreement to its members for consideration. Details of the tentative agreement are not being released pending ratification. "This tentative agreement was reached because of the hard work of both the union and the company," said Mark Prestidge, president of Kroger's Delta division, which includes 110 Kroger stores in Arkansas, Kentucky, Mississippi and Tennessee.
