Kansas City Southern (KCS) (NYSE: KSU) and CloudMoyo (CM)
announced today a partnership to modernize KCS’ railroad operating
system called Management Control System (MCS). KCS will deploy the
CloudMoyo Rail Transportation Management (CRTM) system built on the
CloudMoyo Transportation platform. This next-generation system will
leverage the scale of the Microsoft Azure cloud and harness
analytics and artificial intelligence to improve operational
efficiency and agility. KCS will deploy the CRTM system in phases
over the next three years, and each application of the CRTM will be
tested prior to being put into live service. KCS already leverages
CloudMoyo’s Crew Management, Business Intelligence and Advanced
Analytics.
“KCS’ vision is to consistently be the fastest-growing,
best-performing, most customer-focused transportation provider in
North America. This initiative supports our performance and
customer-focused efforts,” said KCS senior vice president
operations support and chief information officer Mike Naatz. “This
partnership and deployment of the CRTM system will help KCS achieve
new levels of operational efficiency.”
The cloud-based CRTM system is anticipated to help KCS
efficiently scale to meet current and future requirements, bypass
lengthy deployment schedules, and avoid costly infrastructure
investment; enable KCS teams to work more effectively and securely
across locations and business units, while retaining the
flexibility to operate independently on a regional basis; and span
key railroad functions, including rail operations, service planning
and design, revenue management, interline settlement, waybill
management, asset management and the customer/partner portal.
“KCS is recognized as an innovative, customer-focused leader in
the rail and transportation industry,” said CloudMoyo president and
chief executive officer Manish Kedia. “We are thrilled to partner
with them to transform their rail transportation management
foundation through the application of CloudMoyo’s next-generation
cloud, analytics, and artificial intelligence technologies.”
