Kansas City Southern (KCS) (NYSE: KSU) announced today the
retirement of W. James “Jim” Wochner as senior vice president and
chief legal officer, effective March 31, 2019. KCS also announced
the promotion of Adam J. Godderz from associate general counsel and
corporate secretary to general counsel and corporate secretary for
KCS and The Kansas City Southern Railway Company (KCSR), effective
January 1, 2019.

Mr. Wochner joined KCS in 1981 as general attorney and was named
senior vice president of marketing in 1992. In 1994, he was named
vice president and general solicitor in the Legal department. In
2005, he was named vice president sales and marketing coal business
unit and contracts. In 2006, he moved back to the Legal department
as vice president and associate general counsel and was named to
his current role in 2007. Mr. Wochner has been practicing law since
1972. His experience prior to joining KCS includes private
practice, the Interstate Commerce Commission, AT&T and the
Nebraska Public Service Commission. He holds a juris doctorate and
a bachelor of science with distinction in business administration
and economics from the University of Nebraska.

secretary at KCS, Adam Godderz has demonstrated exceptional talent
as a lawyer and advisor to the CEO and board of directors, as well

Mr. Godderz joined the company in 2007 as associate general
counsel and supported sales and marketing, purchasing and financial
transactions. He then became associate general counsel and
corporate secretary in 2013. In 2015, he was appointed vice
president labor relations, a position he held until May 2018 when
he rejoined the Legal department. Prior to joining the company, he
worked for Embarq Corporation, where he served as a procurement
attorney for the commercial law department. Prior to that, he was
an associate in the corporate law department for Stinson Morrison
Hecker LLP. He holds a juris doctorate, master of business
administration and bachelor of arts from the University of
Kansas.
