As previously disclosed, the board of directors of Marathon Petroleum Corporation (“MPC”) formed a special committee to evaluate strategies to enhance shareholder value through a review of its Midstream business, of which MPLX LP (“MPLX”) is the primary component.
On March 18, 2020, MPC announced that its board of directors has unanimously determined to maintain MPC’s current midstream structure, with MPC continuing as the owner of MPLX’s general partner. A copy of MPC’s press release is attached as Exhibit 99.1 hereto and is incorporated herein by reference.
