Network Equipment Technologies, Inc. ("NET") (NYSE: NWK), a global
provider of multi-service network and voice exchange solutions for
enterprise and government customers, announced today that its VX
Series and Quintum Tenor unified communications gateways have been
qualified under the Microsoft Unified Communications Open
Interoperability Program for Microsoft Office Communications Server
2007 Release 2 (R2).
The Direct SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) qualification for
gateways and IP-PBXs ensures that customers have seamless
experiences with setup, support, and use of qualified telephony
gateways and IP-PBXs with Microsoft unified communications
platform. Only products that meet rigorous and extensive testing
requirements and conform to interoperability specifications achieve
qualification under this program.
Qualification testing was performed by tekVizion Labs, an
interoperability certification lab based in Richardson, TX
(www.tekVizionLabs.com). The NET products now qualified for Office
Communications Server 2007 R2 include the VX Series and the Quintum
Tenor AS, AF, AX, BX, DX and CMS Series. The VX Series also
received additional qualification for Office Communications Server
2007 R2 for Direct SIP with TLS (Transport Layer Security) and SRTP
(Secure Real-time Transport Protocol).
"NET's VX Series and Quintum Tenor unified communications
gateways are specifically designed to provide interoperability
between Office Communications Server 2007 R2 and existing
enterprise voice systems and networks, supporting the seamless
deployment of unified communications," said Talbot Harty, Chief
Development Officer at NET. "NET's qualification for Office
Communications Server 2007 R2 further demonstrates our commitment
to Microsoft's strategy and solutions for unified communications.
With the challenges facing businesses today, it is clear that
reducing infrastructure costs and increasing productivity are at
the top of the IT priority list," Harty said. "UC is one of the few
IT initiatives that can deliver on both of these."
