Opower (NYSE:OPWR), the global leader in cloud-based software
for the utility industry, today announced that over 200 utility
leaders and innovators from around the world will participate in
the company’s second-annual user conference, PowerUp. The event, to
be held February 17-19 in Miami, Florida, will feature a range of
sessions from utility leaders and industry experts on issues and
trends facing the utility sector, and updates from Opower
leadership on technology advancements to drive successful customer
engagement.
Utilities are currently confronted with a series of complex
challenges – including regulatory uncertainty, customer care
challenges and increased competition. PowerUp will address this
changing landscape with content and sessions featuring some of the
industry’s most innovative approaches to leveraging technology to
engage customers and improve business outcomes for utilities.
"It's rare that the utility community has the chance to convene
and share innovative solutions for addressing future challenges
facing the industry,” said Tom Baron, Senior Program Manager at
National Grid. “PowerUp is a fantastic opportunity to meet with
other leaders in an intimate and engaging environment. I look
forward to attending again this year."
At the three-day conference, attendees will participate in
interactive working sessions with leading thinkers in the energy
and utility world, and will view new demos of Opower’s technology
platform. PowerUp will feature sessions from some of the most
innovative utilities around the world including Baltimore Gas &
Electric, E.ON, National Grid, and ComEd. The event will also
include inspiring keynotes from journalist and TED speaker Joshua
Prager, Republican pollster Frank Luntz, and Democratic campaign
manager Jim Messina.
“PowerUp is a forum for utility professionals and their peers to
collaborate on how best to engage customers and to address some of
the most pressing challenges facing the industry today," said Dan
Yates, Opower CEO. “We are fortunate to work with some of the most
innovative thinkers in the utility industry and we are thrilled to
have them join us at a conference custom-built for tackling their
biggest challenges and opportunities.”
