Tornado to Touch Down at Six Flags SplashTown - Spring 2005 Prepare
to Ride the Ultimate Storm! SPRING, Texas, Jan. 28 /PRNewswire/ --
Officials confirm Tornado, an enormous new thrill ride, will touch
down at Six Flags SplashTown for the 2005 season on opening day,
April 30. Guests will experience a ride of a lifetime, directly
through the eye of a gigantic award-winning funnel slide. Plus,
guests can double their excitement with the purchase of a 2005 Six
Flags AstroWorld season pass by receiving a free 2005 Six Flags
SplashTown season pass. This special offer is good through April

http://www.prnewswire.com/mnr/sixflags/21129 When construction is
complete, Tornado will resemble an enormous, 60-foot tall household
funnel turned on its side. With a bright yellow and blue
checkerboard design, this massive structure will be highly visible
in this beautifully landscaped water park. The excitement begins on
a platform set 75 feet in the air where daring riders are set in
motion down a 132-foot long tunnel and thrown into the giant
open-ended funnel. However, guests do not have to brave this storm
alone: Tornado provides specially designed, four person
cloverleaf-shaped tubes for families or groups of friends to ride
together. These unique tubes navigate riders through the giant
funnel, splashing back and forth on 5,000 gallons of swirling
water. When riders arrive at the vortex of the Tornado, they are
sent through the eye of the storm into a cool catch pool below.
"This is an enormous water ride that will give our guests the
unique sensation of being drawn through the eye of a giant
tornado," explained Chuck Hendrix, vice president and general
manager of Six Flags SplashTown. Tornado's unique design has
already received numerous distinctions, including the amusement
industry's 2003 Golden Ticket Award for Best Waterpark Ride and the
International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions 2003
Best New Product Award in the Waterpark Category. Six Flags
SplashTown opens for the 2005 season on Saturday, April 30. Daily
