TNI Partners Names Michael Jameson President and CEO ST. LOUIS,
Dec. 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Pulitzer Inc. today announced
that Michael Jameson has been named president and CEO of TNI
Partners, the newspaper agency partnership of Pulitzer and Gannett
Co., Inc. , in Tucson, Ariz., effective January 5. TNI Partners
handles the business operations of the Arizona Daily Star, a
morning and Sunday newspaper owned by Pulitzer, and the Tucson
Citizen, an afternoon paper owned by Gannett. Jameson, 48, has been
involved in various aspects of the newspaper business for nearly 25
years. For the past three years he has been president of the River
Valley Newspaper Group in Wisconsin and publisher of the La Crosse
Tribune, which is part of Lee Enterprises, Inc. In that position,
he was responsible for two daily newspapers, eight paid weeklies,
and a number of additional publications and online operations. From
1993 through 2000, Jameson was vice president and general manager
of Madison Newspapers Inc., a dual ownership between Lee
Enterprises and the Capital Times Corporation, where he was
responsible for all of the agency's business operations and
specialty products. Mark G. Contreras, senior vice president of
Pulitzer Inc., said, "Mike's deep experience and record of
accomplishment in newspaper publishing make him an ideal leader for
the Tucson agency. He knows our business well, and has demonstrated
success in integrating print and online operations to grow audience
and produce results for advertisers. Importantly, his work at
Madison Newspapers gave him hands-on experience running a newspaper
agency partnership similar in size to TNI Partners in Tucson. And
finally, Mike's inclusive and participatory leadership style makes
him a great fit with TNI and with Pulitzer. We are very pleased he
has agreed to join us." "I am very excited by the opportunity to
join TNI," Jameson said. "Tucson is an exceptional market where
Gannett and Pulitzer have a strong presence. I look forward to
working with the great team in Tucson to realize our very
substantial potential there." Prior to 1993, Jameson held a variety
of sales and advertising management positions with Madison
Newspapers, Inc., the Louisville Courier-Journal, and the Hartford
Courant. He began his newspaper career in 1979 as an advertising
representative with the Gloucester Daily Times in Gloucester,
Mass., and had risen to advertising manager when he left in 1983.
