FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.,
Nov. 29, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- SFN
Group, Inc. (NYSE: SFN) announced today the launch of its text
messaging program, which is the first of several phases to enhance
the candidate experience to gain quicker and more efficient access
to jobs through mobile technologies.
As of today, job seekers can participate in the program if they
opt-in to receive text job alerts via the "Job Centers" located on
two of SFN's specialist recruiting and staffing businesses'
websites, The Mergis Group (www.mergisgroup.com) and Spherion
Staffing Services (www.spherion.com). In the first two weeks
of promoting this new program, the company had nearly 10,000
candidates sign up between these two businesses alone. The program
will be rolled out nationally, across all SFN's family of
businesses in early 2011.
"We are very excited to announce this next stage in our
recruiting efforts," said Roy
Krause, president and CEO of SFN Group, Inc. "With millions
of people carrying mobile devices, texting is becoming a much more
efficient and preferred means of communicating for many passive and
active job seekers. In an industry where time is of the essence,
this form of communicating provides the means to reach a wider and
highly targeted audience in a much shorter time span. With studies
showing that mobile Internet use is set to outpace PC connection
use -- it is clear just how powerful this medium is and will
continue to be as the technology evolves."
The job alert texting program is part of an integrated effort by
SFN Group to leverage mobile technologies across its divisions, and
capitalize on mobile technology usage trends to not only improve
the candidate job search experience, but to fill positions more
efficiently. SFN Group is partnering with leading mobile platform
provider 3Cinteractive® to deploy these solutions. 3Cinteractive
helps companies extend business and communication processes to the
mobile channel, allowing SFN Group to stay on the cutting edge of
mobile as future initiatives are deployed.
Earlier this year, SFN launched mobile friendly versions of its
candidate e-newsletters, and piloted a mobile website for The
Mergis Group (http://www.mergisgroup.com/m/). Plans to expand
mobile initiatives in 2011 include:
- Mobile-optimized websites for Technisource, Spherion and
Tatum
- The integration of "Mobile Job Centers" into corporate mobile
websites that allow candidates to securely search and apply for
jobs through their mobile device
- Expanded text messaging capabilities: reminders about interview
times, interview follow-up, timesheet updates via mobile devices,
and directions to an interview
- Engaging candidates through social networking communities via
marketing campaigns
According to recent reports, mobile devices will be the primary
connection tool to the Internet within the next five years.
The addition of text messaging in the recruiting process
expands the reach and the ways in which recruiters engage with job
candidates.
