TURIN, Italy, Nov. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Siemens PLM Software, a
division of Siemens Automation and Drives (A&D) and a leading
global provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) software and
services, today announced that Alenia Aeronautica, the leading
Italian aerospace company, following a comprehensive evaluation
process, selected Teamcenter(R) software, the world's most widely

Teamcenter will be used by Alenia Aeronautica to unify all new

source of product and process knowledge, bridging the gap between
the product design and manufacturing departments. Instant
collaboration, configuration management and integration with
manufacturing are the main focus areas of the initial project.
Teamcenter will enable Alenia Aeronautica to quickly and easily
share product and technology information with hundreds of key
employees at multiple locations, allowing the company to
standardize new product development practices across the business.
"This new solution will help us to bridge the gap between the
engineering and the manufacturing departments, sharing product and
technology information within our extensive network of users in
Italy and abroad," said Nazario Cauceglia, Alenia Aeronautica Chief
Technology Officer. "The fact that an Aerospace & Defense
industry leader like Alenia Aeronautica selected Teamcenter to
displace an existing solution, following an extensive evaluation
process, further validates the superiority of Siemens PLM
Software's technology and our professionals," said Paul Vogel,
senior vice president and managing director for Europe, Middle East
& Africa, Siemens PLM Software. "Siemens PLM Software has been
selected as the preferred provider by numerous leading Aerospace
& Defense companies worldwide, and this selection further
strengthens our leadership in this industry." Teamcenter powers
innovation and productivity by connecting people and processes with
a single source of product and process knowledge. Teamcenter's
comprehensive portfolio of proven digital lifecycle management
solutions is built on an open PLM foundation to power end-to-end
PLM. The selection of Teamcenter by Alenia Aeronautica reinforces
