From Western Australia, the most isolated state in the world's most
isolated continent, comes Four Emus -- a quirky, dynamic wine brand
ready to leap from seclusion into the United States market. Famous
for its endless summers, Western Australia touts a diverse
landscape of vibrant blue ocean water, lush landscape and expansive
deserts. With a coastline spanning the state, it's no wonder that
vines thrive in this oft-Mediterranean climate of long, warm days
cooled by coastal breezes. The Four Emus label pays tribute to the
daunting landscape of Western Australia and the berserk creatures
that reside there. Emus run fast and play hard. They are the rock
stars of the outback, famous (after all, one stands alongside a
kangaroo on the country's coat of arms) with a touch of insanity.
This new line of wines combines the attitude of the outback with
the bold, unique flavors of Western Australian vineyards. "We
strive to produce wines with heaps of fruit flavor, generosity and
a distinct stamp of Western Australia vibrancy," said Four Emus
Winemaker Ross Pamment. Pamment, who has been making wine in
Western Australia for nearly 10 years, says the "minimally
manipulated wines" are food friendly, and created to be "paired
with your best friends." Four Emus come from some of Western
Australia's prime growing regions including Swan Valley, Margaret
River, Pemberton and Gin Gin. At $10 a bottle, Four Emus wines aim
to bring new consumers to the Australian super premium category. To
unleash the Four Emus, just twist. Four Emus wines are contained by
a screwcap, undaunted and free of cork taint. Four Emus wines
emerge this fall in four distinct varieties, as bold and fresh as
the day they left the winery: Chardonnay; Shiraz;
Cabernet-Shiraz-Merlot and Sauvignon Blanc-Semillon. Each varietal
has its own front-label color in vibrant shades of red, blue, green
and yellow. An innovative addition to the already fresh packaging
is the "Wine Find" (TM) Tear Tab on the back label that offers
consumers "an easy way to remember that great wine they had at
their favorite restaurant or a friend's house," says Kimberly Ertl,
brand manager for Four Emus. "It also provides an easy way to
remember our web address. We really want wine lovers to log on and
share what they think about these luscious wines!" Four Emus is
imported by Pacific Wine Partners, a Constellation Wines U.S.
company and a leading producer of premium California wines and
importer of wines from Australia and New Zealand. Constellation
Wines U.S. is part of Constellation Wines, the world's largest wine
business, an operating division of Constellation Brands, Inc.
(NYSE:STZ) (NYSE:STZ.B) ("CBI"). Constellation Wines U.S.
encompasses three of CBI's U.S. wine businesses: Canandaigua Wine
Company, Pacific Wine Partners, and North Lake Wines. Pacific Wine
Partners produces several top California brands including
Blackstone, Black Box, and Hayman and Hill, and is the U.S.
importer for Banrock Station, Hardys, Leasingham, Barossa Valley
Estate, Yarra Burn, Starvedog Lane, Brookland Valley, and Chateau
