Business Wire
Entel PCS, one of Chiles largest mobile operators, has decided to
move its clearing business to Syniverse Technologies (NYSE:SVR) as
it seeks to simplify the complexities of providing industry-leading
service to its roaming subscribers. In addition to selecting
Syniverses Data Clearing House for GSM (DCH) and Financial
Clearing House for GSM (FCH), the South American operator also has
chosen Syniverse DataNet and Roaming Management Services (RMS) as
part of a complete set of solutions that will work together to
streamline its end-to-end roaming process. Syniverse is a leading
provider of technology and business solutions for the global
telecommunications industry. We are extremely pleased that Entel
PCS has chosen to switch to us as its single source for roaming
solutions, said Giorgio Miano, Senior Vice President, Caribbean
and Latin America, Syniverse. By selecting our comprehensive
clearing, fraud prevention and roaming management solutions, Entel
PCS will reap the benefits of a much more efficient roaming
process. Syniverse DCH and FCH will work together to handle Entel
PCSs data and financial clearing. DCH will serve as a single point
of contact for the exchange of roaming billing records between
Entel PCS and its roaming partners as subscribers move in and out
of networks. FCH will manage Entel PCSs payable and receivable
positions with these partners. Syniverse DataNet, which was named
Best Roaming Product or Service at the GSM Associations (GSMA)
2008 Global Mobile Awards, provides industry-leading roaming fraud
protection by drastically reducing the time it takes to exchange
roaming data records used to spot fraudulent activities. This
solution also ensures Entel PCS will meet the October 2008 target
date to implement the GSMAs new Near Real Time Roaming Data
Exchange (NRTRDE) anti-fraud roaming standards. RMS will enable
Entel PCS to manage its roaming business more efficiently by
providing the operator with access to roaming information via a
centralized data and document repository. This comprehensive,
cost-effective tool facilitates the electronic exchange of roaming
partner information in the RAEX-compliant XML format, enabling
mobile operators to perform queries, run reports and send alerts on
essential roaming agreement data. Juan Carlos Jil, International
Services Director, Entel PCS,said Vodafones recommendation and
Syniverses excellent regional approach to customer support were
the main reasons his company decided to make the switch with a
three-year contract. Syniverse has a local presence in both Chile
and nearby Argentina. Choosing Syniverse gives us two clear
advantages in todays competitive marketplace, Jil said. First,
we benefit from its local presence that both gives Syniverse an
intimate understanding of the challenges we face and has earned
Syniverse an excellent reputation for superior in-region customer
service. Second, we can rely on a trusted provider of tightly
integrated roaming solutions that enhance our subscribers customer
experience and increase revenue assurance. About Syniverse
