Tom Hoskins PLC (the "Company") announces that prior to the EGM to be held on 9
May 2003, which is being held to consider the proposed liquidation of the
Company, trading in the Company's ordinary shares will be suspended at the
Company's request. As stated in the circular to shareholders dated 15 April 2003
convening the EGM, the directors are advising shareholders to vote against the
resolution.  HBBC plc, who hold 11,305,775 ordinary shares, representing 42.3
per cent. of the current issued share capital of the Company, have undertaken to
vote against the resolution. Given the resolution requires a 75  per cent.
majority the resolution will therefore fail. The Company will then request that
the suspension be lifted.
