Tyler broadens courts and justice offering with
acquisition of civil process software company
Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) today announced that it has
acquired SoftCode, a company specializing in software for managing
civil processes. SoftCode was founded in 1991 and is headquartered
in Marlborough, Massachusetts.
SoftCode serves county sheriff departments and offers a complete
civil case management solution, from court to service attempts to
final execution of payments. With this acquisition, Tyler broadens
its portfolio of courts and justice solutions by complementing its
Odyssey® product suite.
“We are pleased to add SoftCode’s offerings to Tyler’s portfolio
and as SoftCode becomes a part of the Courts & Justice
Division, we expect that Odyssey users will gain access to
sophisticated civil service capabilities in a seamless and
integrated way,” said Bruce Graham, president of Tyler’s Courts
& Justice Division. “SoftCode is a civil software market leader
with whom we share many similar clients. We look forward to a long
partnership with the new jurisdictions joining the Tyler
family.”
SoftCode’s founding partners, management and employees will all
join Tyler’s Courts & Justice division. During the coming
months, SoftCode’s technology and services offerings will be
integrated into Tyler operations and branding.
“This is an amazing opportunity for our SoftCode team to join a
company that has similar values and goals,” said Steve Magoun,
chief executive officer at SoftCode. “Tyler Technologies brings our
employees and clients the stability that comes with a large,
well-established company like Tyler while maintaining our
small-company agility and responsiveness. We look forward to being
a part of Tyler’s software solutions.”
