The following table lists unplanned and planned production
outages at U.S. refineries as reported by Dow Jones Newswires. The
information is compiled from both official and unofficial refining
sources and doesn't purport to be a comprehensive list.
Motiva Enterprises LLC said Monday that a reformer unit at its
Norco, La., refinery was operating at planned rates after
restarting Saturday. The unit was taken out of service Wednesday to
facilitate compressor repairs.
Suncor Energy (SU) Sunday shut a hydrocracker unit at its Sarnia
refinery in Ontario, Canada, owing to a fire at an associated
compressor. There is no estimate on when the unit will be
restarted.
Exxon Mobil Corp.'s (XOM) Baytown, Texas, hydrocraker unit 1,
was up and running Monday after restarting over the weekend. The
unit was taken out of service Friday to facilitate repairs to an
associated compressor. As expected, the company experienced minimal
impact on production as other associated units were operating at
temporarily reduced rates to minimize emissions during the repair
time.
BP PLC (BP) discovered a leak in a process unit heat exchanger
Saturday at its Texas City, Texas, refinery. The exchanger, located
at FCCU3, was in propane/propylene service at the time the leak was
discovered. The exchanger was isolated and depressurized to
facilitate repairs.
ConocoPhillips (COP) said Friday that its Borger, Texas,
refinery is in a turnaround. Earlier in the morning, the plant shut
an amine unit for planned maintenance on Oct. 9-24.
Total SA's (TOT) Port Arthur, Texas, plant shut unit 821 for
maintenance from Oct. 9-13.
