U.K. diagnostics company DxS Ltd. Monday said it has licensed its Scorpions technology to chemicals giant DuPont Co. (DD).

The license was granted to DuPont Qualicon, a unit of DuPont that sells systems used by food companies to screen their products for potentially dangerous bugs. Financial terms weren't disclosed.

DuPont is the latest big company to strike a deal with Manchester, England-based DxS. Biotechnology major Amgen Inc. (AMGN) uses a DxS test to determine whether patients with a certain genetic mutation are likely to respond to its cancer drug Vectibix, while Swiss pharmaceutical company Roche Holding AG (ROG.VX) also has a distribution deal with the firm.
