Coeur d'Alene Mines Corporation's Rochester Mine Receives Major Environmental Award COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho, March 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Coeur d'Alene Mines Corporation, the world's largest primary silver producer, announced today that its flagship Rochester, Nevada mine has received the Habitat Restoration Award from the Nevada Division of Wildlife (NDOW), the sixth major environmental award given the mine since operations commenced in 1986. This most recent honor is a State of Nevada award given for Rochester's work in developing additional bat habitat in the Nevada Packard project area. The award emphasized the outstanding working relationship achieved between Coeur Rochester and NDOW. The Habitat Restoration Award is the third such award given to the mine for their work in this area. In 2000, Rochester was given the Nevada Excellence in Mining Reclamation -- Wildlife Enhancement Award. Then in 2003, Coeur was further recognized by Bat Conservation International as the Corporate Conservationist of the Year -- 2003. Since operations began, Rochester has received a total of six major environmental awards, including awards for cultural resource protection, integration of environmental protection measures into permitting activities and wildlife habitat development and protection.
