Colfax to Provide Pumping Solutions for French Navy Nuclear Submarines

TOURS, France, Oct. 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Colfax Corporation
(NYSE: CFX), a global leader in fluid-handling solutions for
critical applications, announced its Colfax-Imo Pompes Business
Unit in France will provide oil pumps and other fluid-handling
systems for Barracuda-class nuclear submarines being built for the
French Navy. "Submarines need to operate as quietly as possible to
avoid detection, and the French Navy accordingly specified its
pumps should produce low noise levels and vibrations," said Daniel
Joslin, managing director of Colfax's business in Tours, France.
"Our Colfax Defense Centre of Excellence in Tours has the staff and
equipment capable of meeting those demanding requirements to ensure
the pumps provide years of quiet, reliable service." Colfax will
deliver the first pumping systems to French naval-defense
contractor Direction des Constructions Navales Services (DCNS)
between the end of 2010 and the beginning of 2011. They will be
used aboard the Suffren, the first of six submarines that will
enter active service between 2016 and 2027. Colfax will continue to
provide service, training, parts and documentation for its systems
