In the news release, CIT Declares Dividends for Second Quarter 2006, issued earlier today by CIT Group Inc. over PR Newswire, we are advised by the company that the first paragraph, last sentence, should read "the dividend is payable on August 30, 2006" rather than "August 31, 2006." The second paragraph, last sentence, should read "The preferred stock dividends are payable on September 15, 2006 to holders of record on August 31, 2006" rather than "holders of record on June 30, 2006" as originally issued inadvertently.
