Fred Hassan Steps Down From EDS Board of Directors
PLANO, Texas, Oct. 21 -- EDS (NYSE: EDS) today announced Fred Hassan has
resigned from its board of directors effective immediately.
Hassan, who was elected to the board in February 2003, said he is stepping
down to focus on his new responsibilities as chairman and chief executive
officer of Schering-Plough Corporation. Hassan joined Schering-Plough in
April.
"Fred is leading a major turnaround initiative at Schering-Plough, and we
fully understand his decision to focus on that task. We wish him the best in
this endeavor," said Mike Jordan, chairman and CEO.
EDS, which now has nine directors, has no immediate plans to replace
Hassan.
