Havelock Europa Plc ("the Company")

The Company has been informed by letter, dated today, that following a purchase
of 1,400,00 ordinary shares in the Company, Standard Life Investments have a
notifiable interest in the Company which represents 4.5% of the issued ordinary
share capital of the Company.

In addition, the RJJ Bell 1988 Settlement Trust sold 2,347,073 ordinary shares
in the Company on 15 October 2003. The Trust no longer holds any ordinary shares
in the Company.
