BETHESDA, Md., Jan. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- WHAT: In partnership with StreetLaw, Inc., Marriott's Law Department is conducting a one-day conference at the company's Bethesda headquarters for students from three Montgomery County Public Schools. DETAILS: The participating high schools are Quince Orchard, Watkins Mill and Seneca Valley and were selected to attend this conference based on the diversity of their student populations. The conference is designed to encourage young people of color to extend their educations and consider law-related careers. During the conference, members of the Marriott legal team will present interactive workshops which allow the students to negotiate a hotel contract, resolve a personal injury dispute, and investigate a sex harassment claim. The students also attend a luncheon that features a career fair where attorneys discuss their career paths and highlight opportunities in the legal profession. This conference is the culmination of a number of classroom visits by Marriott attorneys to the schools to teach lessons on civil law subjects and help prepare the students for their conference experience.
