Agencies to Sign Funding Agreement for Batsto River Fishway
Restoration NEWARK, N.J., July 6 /PRNewswire/ -- When: Wednesday,
July 7, 11 a.m. Where: Batsto Village, Wharton State Forest,
Hammonton, NJ Who: NJ DEP Commissioner Bradley Campbell, Lt. Col.
Thomas C. Chapman, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, CWRP NJ Chapter
representatives What: The Batsto River Fishway Restoration Project
will restore access to spawning and foraging habitat for migratory
fish on the Batsto River. The project includes installation of a
fishway on the river The Corporate Wetlands Restoration Project
will provide $50,000 of private sector funding required to initiate
the $600,000 project which also is being funded by state and
federal agencies including NJ DEP, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife
Service, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers CWRP is an innovative
public-private partnership among federal and state government,
private corporations, conservation organizations and academia
dedicated to preserving, enhancing, and protecting coastal wetlands
and aquatic habitats. CWRP is supported by the Coastal America
Partnership, a consortium of all federal agencies with statutory
