Bank Leumi Group sale of Shareholding in Shore Capital

Shore Capital Group plc ("Shore Capital" or "the Company"), the London listed
investment banking group, announces that the Bank Leumi Group ("Bank Leumi"),
Israel's leading international bank, has sold its entire interest in the Company
through the stock market.  The holding of 76,964,541 shares represented 24.9% of
the Company's issued share capital; 76,200,000 of this holding, representing
24.65% of the Company's issued share capital, was held by Bank Leumi (UK) plc.

Of the holding sold, 46,330,585 shares, represented 14.99% of the Company's
issued share capital, were purchased by Shore Capital for cancellation pursuant
to its market purchase authority.  The balance were purchased by clients of
Shore Capital.  The transaction was conducted at a price of 10.75p.

Bank Leumi became a shareholder in Shore Capital in December 1997 with the
intention of forming a partnership with Shore Capital to develop cross-border
investment banking business between the UK and Israel.  The investment has been
a successful one for Bank Leumi which has now decided to realise its
shareholding.  However, Bank Leumi and Shore Capital intend to continue their
co-operation, having formed close ties since the partnership began.

Commenting on the sale, Uzi Rosen, Managing Director & C.E.O. of Bank Leumi (UK)
plc, said:

balance of our holding as the partnership was no longer strategic for both
sides, but nevertheless expect to continue to enjoy a close working relationship
whereby each party offers its customers their respective services where
appropriate.  We wish Shore Capital well for the future".
