          TERMINATION OF DISCUSSIONS REGARDING EXPRESSION OF INTEREST          

Further to the announcement on 15 May 2003 by the board of Christian Salvesen
PLC (the "Company") regarding an expression of interest in a possible offer for
the Company, the board can now confirm that it is no longer in such discussions
with any parties.
