- Canlan Sportsplex to be Company's first "non-ice" facility focusing on field and court sports - BURNABY, BC, June 25, 2012 /CNW/ - Canlan Ice Sports Corp., industry-leading providers of recreational sports and entertainment facilities across North America, today announced it is expanding its Canadian operations with the addition of "Canlan Sportsplex - Mississauga", a new, 55,000 square foot indoor sports complex to be located in Mississauga, Ontario. Located at 3360 Wolfdale Road in Mississauga, Ontario, Canlan intends to refurbish an existing vacant warehouse, previously used as an assembly plant, by investing approximately $1.7 million dollars of leasehold improvements to transform the building into a multi-sport, recreational facility.  This includes the installation of two fully boarded indoor artificial turf fields, one sport floor rink, three professional volleyball courts, along with a fully-licensed food and beverage area, change rooms and party rooms.  The facility will have nine large overhead doors which will easily transform the indoor sports center into an open air sports complex to give participants the feeling of being outdoors while remaining sheltered from the sun or rain in the spring and summer periods.
