TORONTO, Jan. 29, 2015 /CNW/ - Redline Communications
(www.rdlcom.com) Group Inc. (TSX: RDL), a leading provider of
mission-critical wireless networks for the oil and gas industry,
announced today that it has received a contract worth more than
$1 million for the second phase of a
wireless network to connect people and machines across an
Argentinian oilfield.
This expansion order will double the size of the current
network, which is already bringing a ubiquitous umbrella of
connectivity, and which has converted the customer's existing field
operation into a truly digital oilfield. Redline's wide-area
wireless Virtual Fiber™ solution is the backbone that provides
connectivity for a wide range of applications, including the remote
monitoring of well heads and collection and separation facilities.
The Redline network delivers the capacity to carry the operator's
voice, data and video traffic on a single backbone, giving
employees and contractors access to corporate systems from
anywhere, delivering real-time drilling applications, and providing
machine-to-machine (M2M) connectivity for remote monitoring and
management of assets. The ability to remotely and in real-time
change parameters to optimize the rate of production at the well
site increases uptime and optimizes production without adding
additional costs.
"This network expansion order was the direct result of our
ability to demonstrate that our wireless solutions deliver real
bottom line benefits to oil and gas operators," states Louis Lambert, vice-president of oil and gas
sales for Redline. "In a time of lower oil prices, efficiency gains
are one of the biggest drivers of automation for oil and gas
operators, and Redline delivers measurable results. We are seeing
continued success with both new and existing oil and gas customers
as they strive to reduce costs and increase production."
In addition to network products, Redline will provide a range of
technical services, including radio frequency planning, network
architecture development, network design and engineering. This
second phase, which will improve productivity, efficiency and
worker safety, is expected to be fully operational by the third
quarter of 2015.
With a proven track record that includes dozens of successful
large-scale digital oilfields, Redline, an ISNetworld™ member
company, is not only an expert in wireless mission-critical
networks, but also in turnkey wireless network delivery for oil and
gas, with purpose-built products and oilfield-ready HSE-certified
professionals. Redline's end-to-end solutions for oil and gas
include planning, engineering and delivery services that combine
with ruggedized products to deliver a complete network solution,
which can operate effectively throughout the entire life cycle of
an oilfield.
